This 9.29-carat sphene is cut as a cushion measuring 14.6 x 10.5 x 8.1 mm, with a brown body color, sourced from Madagascar.

Sphene has dispersion higher than diamond, so a well-cut stone throws more fire than almost any other gemstone. Madagascar has produced an unusually wide range of gem species since the mid 1990s. It is wholly untreated, its color finished by geology rather than by any furnace or enhancement.
