4.58 ct Violet Tanzanite - Pear

At 4.58 carats, this tanzanite from Tanzania carries its violet color through a pear cut, measuring 14.7 x 8.7 x 6.3 mm.

Tanzanite is the blue-violet zoisite found in exactly one place on earth, a few square kilometers of hills in northern Tanzania. Tanzania holds some of the most interesting modern gem deposits, including several found nowhere else. It is wholly untreated, its color finished by geology rather than by any furnace or enhancement.

A single natural gemstone with no duplicate behind it; once it is set or collected, there is no other. It will outlast everyone who owns it, which is most of what an heirloom really is. Hand-selected and filmed by Caveman Gems in good light, shown as honestly as a screen allows.
