This 3.42-carat rhodolite garnet is finished as an emerald cut measuring 10.6 x 6.7 x 4.6 mm, with a red body color, sourced from Mozambique.

Rhodolite sits between pyrope and almandine, with a raspberry note the eye reads as livelier than either parent species. Mozambique's northern gem fields supply ruby, tourmaline, and a steady run of fine garnet with the strong color East Africa is known for. It is entirely untreated; no heat, no enhancement, the color exactly as the earth made it. That is typical of garnet, one of the few gem families that reaches the market almost entirely untreated.
