2.70 ct Red Garnet-Rhodolite - Oval

This 2.7-carat rhodolite garnet is cut as an oval measuring 9.5 x 6.8 x 5.5 mm, with a red body color, sourced from Tanzania.

Rhodolite sits between pyrope and almandine, with a raspberry note the eye reads as livelier than either parent species. Tanzania's gem gravels yield one of the widest spreads of garnet species anywhere, with the saturation East African material is known for. It is wholly untreated, its color finished by geology rather than by any furnace or enhancement. That is typical of garnet, one of the few gem families that reaches the market almost entirely untreated.
