Opal
2.40 ct Colorless Opal - Pear

At 2.4 carats, this opal from Ethiopia carries its colorless face through a pear cut, measuring 10.3 x 7.5 x 3.5 mm.
Opal is hydrated silica that can break white light into a play of living color, a fire no two stones repeat; it holds up to a fifth of its weight in water, which is why it glows in a way nothing crystalline does. Ethiopia is one of the newest names on the gem map, now a leading source of bright opal as well as other species. It is wholly untreated, its color finished by geology rather than by any furnace or enhancement.
A natural opal small enough to wear every day and real enough to mean it, not a lab stone and not glass. Hand-selected and filmed by Caveman Gems in good light, shown as honestly as a screen allows.
