15.51 ct Red Garnet-Rhodolite - Cushion

This 15.51-carat rhodolite garnet is cut as a cushion measuring 13.6 x 13.6 x 10 mm, with a red body color, sourced from Tanzania.

Rhodolite sits between pyrope and almandine, with a raspberry note the eye reads as livelier than either parent species. Tanzania's gem gravels yield one of the widest spreads of garnet species anywhere, with the saturation East African material is known for. It is wholly untreated, its color finished by geology rather than by any furnace or enhancement.
