13.76 ct Purple Amethyst - Oval

At 13.76 carats, this amethyst from Uruguay carries its purple color through an oval cut, measuring 19.2 x 14.3 x 10.2 mm.

Amethyst is the purple quartz, colored by iron and natural irradiation, the most prized member of the most common gem family on earth. Its color was brought up by heat, a legitimate and accepted practice that the trade discloses and we disclose here.

This is a center-stone-grade gemstone with a character of its own, chosen rather than settled for. Hand-selected and photographed by Caveman Gems in good light, shown as honestly as a screen allows.
