Kunzite is the pink-to-violet spodumene, colored by manganese, prized for clean pastel color in generous sizes. Brazil has been one of the most prolific colored-gemstone sources in the world for a century, and still turns up new material on a regular basis. Its color was brought up by heat, a legitimate and accepted practice that the trade discloses and we disclose here.
