1.98 ct Blue Sapphire-Star - Cabochon

This 1.98-carat star sapphire is shaped as a cabochon measuring 8.3 x 6.3 x 3.5 mm, with a blue body color, sourced from Mozambique.

A star sapphire carries fine silk inclusions that gather light into a star across the dome of the cabochon, a phenomenon gemologists call asterism. Mozambique's northern gem fields, better known for ruby, also turn up fine sapphire. It carries no treatment of any kind, so the color you see is the color that came out of the ground.
