Garnet-Rhodolite
1.65 ct Red Garnet-Rhodolite - Round

At 1.65 carats, this rhodolite garnet from Mozambique carries its red color through a round cut, measuring 6 x 3.4 mm.
Rhodolite sits between pyrope and almandine, with a raspberry note the eye reads as livelier than either parent species. Mozambique's northern gem fields supply ruby, tourmaline, and a steady run of fine garnet with the strong color East Africa is known for. It carries no treatment of any kind, so the color you see is the color that came out of the ground. That is typical of garnet, one of the few gem families that reaches the market almost entirely untreated.
No two of these line up the same way on color, cut, and origin at once, which is what makes choosing this one feel deliberate. Hand-selected and photographed by Caveman Gems in good light, shown as honestly as a screen allows.
