1.63 ct Red Garnet-Rhodolite - Oval

This 1.63-carat rhodolite garnet is cut as an oval measuring 8 x 7 x 4.2 mm, with a red body color, sourced from Madagascar.

Rhodolite sits between pyrope and almandine, with a raspberry note the eye reads as livelier than either parent species. Madagascar has produced an unusually wide range of gem species since the mid 1990s, and its garnets arrive in colors the older sources rarely matched. It is entirely untreated; no heat, no enhancement, the color exactly as the earth made it.
