This 1.63-carat andradite garnet is cut as a round measuring 6.6 x 4.9 mm, with a brown body color, sourced from Namibia.

Andradite is the most lustrous of the garnet species, prized for a dispersion, or fire, that can exceed diamond, so a well-cut example flashes color as it moves. Namibia is a quieter source than its East African neighbors, but its deposits hold a strong record with the garnet family in particular. It is entirely untreated; no heat, no enhancement, the color exactly as the earth made it.
