1.61 ct Green Alexandrite - Oval

At 1.61 carats, this alexandrite from Madagascar carries its green color through an oval cut, measuring 7.9 x 6.2 x 3.7 mm.

Alexandrite is the color-change chrysoberyl, green in daylight and red under lamplight; few gemstones genuinely change hue, and this is the one that defined the effect. Madagascar has produced an unusually wide range of gem species since the mid 1990s. It is entirely untreated; no heat, no enhancement, the color exactly as the earth made it.

Few stones reach this combination of size and quality, and fewer still come to market. We will tell you everything we know about it before you decide.
