Rhodolite sits between pyrope and almandine, with a raspberry note the eye reads as livelier than either parent species. Tanzania's gem gravels yield one of the widest spreads of garnet species anywhere, with the saturation East African material is known for. It is entirely untreated; no heat, no enhancement, the color exactly as the earth made it. That is typical of garnet, one of the few gem families that reaches the market almost entirely untreated.
