Morganite is the pink beryl, colored by manganese, a softer-toned member of the same family that gives us emerald and aquamarine. Nigeria's gem fields rose to prominence in the 1990s and remain a significant modern source. It is wholly untreated, its color finished by geology rather than by any furnace or enhancement.
