Tsavorite is the chrome-green grossular garnet of East Africa, a color comparable to fine emerald and often cleaner to the eye. Tanzania's gem gravels yield one of the widest spreads of garnet species anywhere, with the saturation East African material is known for. It is entirely untreated; no heat, no enhancement, the color exactly as the earth made it.
