This 1.12-carat spinel is cut as an oval measuring 6.2 x 5.6 x 4.6 mm, with a pink body color, sourced from Burma.

Spinel is the gemstone long mistaken for ruby in old crown jewels; in its own right it grows as a hard, brilliant, untreated red, pink, or blue. Burma has supplied the gem trade with prized material for centuries, from narrow and irregularly worked deposits.
