0.99 ct Yellow Garnet-Demantoid - Round

At 0.99 carats, this demantoid garnet from Namibia carries its yellow color through a round cut, measuring 5.7 x 4.1 mm.

Demantoid is green andradite with dispersion higher than diamond's, so it throws more fire than the stone the hardness scale is named for. Namibia is a quieter source than its East African neighbors, but its deposits hold a strong record with the garnet family in particular. It carries no treatment of any kind, so the color you see is the color that came out of the ground.

A single natural gemstone with no duplicate behind it; once it is set or collected, there is no other. It will outlast everyone who owns it, which is most of what an heirloom really is. Hand-selected and filmed by Caveman Gems in good light, shown as honestly as a screen allows.
