Peridot is the gem form of olivine, colored green by the iron in its own structure, one of the few gems that occurs in a single color. Pakistan's northern ranges produce fine gems from some of the highest-altitude mines in the world. It carries no treatment of any kind, so the color you see is the color that came out of the ground.
