0.80 ct Green Alexandrite - Pear

This 0.8-carat alexandrite is cut as a pear measuring 7.1 x 4.6 x 3.4 mm, with a green body color, sourced from Madagascar.

Alexandrite is the color-change chrysoberyl, green in daylight and red under lamplight; few gemstones genuinely change hue, and this is the one that defined the effect. Madagascar has produced an unusually wide range of gem species since the mid 1990s. Its color was brought up by heat, a legitimate and accepted practice that the trade discloses and we disclose here.
