0.86 ct Green Alexandrite - Oval

At 0.86 carats, this alexandrite from Sri Lanka carries its green color through an oval cut, measuring 6 x 4.9 x 4 mm.

Alexandrite is the color-change chrysoberyl, green in daylight and red under lamplight; few gemstones genuinely change hue, and this is the one that defined the effect. Sri Lanka's gem gravels have been worked continuously for more than two thousand years. It carries no treatment of any kind, so the color you see is the color that came out of the ground.

A single natural gemstone with no duplicate behind it; once it is set or collected, there is no other. It will outlast everyone who owns it, which is most of what an heirloom really is. Hand-selected and filmed by Caveman Gems in good light, shown as honestly as a screen allows.
