At 0.7 carats, this alexandrite from Sri Lanka carries its green color through a trillion cut, measuring 5.4 x 5.2 x 3.6 mm.

Alexandrite is the color-change chrysoberyl, green in daylight and red under lamplight; few gemstones genuinely change hue, and this is the one that defined the effect. Sri Lanka's gem gravels have been worked continuously for more than two thousand years. It is wholly untreated, its color finished by geology rather than by any furnace or enhancement.
