Tsavorite is the chrome-green grossular garnet of East Africa, a color comparable to fine emerald and often cleaner to the eye. Kenya's Taita Hills and the surrounding gem fields are the historic heart of East African garnet mining. It is wholly untreated, its color finished by geology rather than by any furnace or enhancement.
