Tsavorite is the chrome-green grossular garnet of East Africa, a color comparable to fine emerald and often cleaner to the eye. Tanzania's gem gravels yield one of the widest spreads of garnet species anywhere, with the saturation East African material is known for. It carries no treatment of any kind, so the color you see is the color that came out of the ground.
