This 0.25-carat alexandrite is cut as a marquise measuring 6.3 x 3.4 x 1.6 mm, with a green body color, sourced from Brazil.

Alexandrite is the color-change chrysoberyl, green in daylight and red under lamplight; few gemstones genuinely change hue, and this is the one that defined the effect. Brazil has been one of the most prolific colored-gemstone sources in the world for a century, and still turns up new material on a regular basis. It is entirely untreated; no heat, no enhancement, the color exactly as the earth made it.
