Ruby
0.48 ct Red Ruby - Round

At 0.48 carats, this ruby from Madagascar carries its red color through a round cut, measuring 4.8 x 3 mm.
Ruby is the red form of corundum, sapphire's sibling species, and fine examples are among the most valuable colored gemstones per carat. Madagascar is a major modern ruby source, giving strong reds at more reachable prices than the classic localities. It is entirely untreated; no heat, no enhancement, the color exactly as the earth made it. It is GIA-certified, and the report is available to view.
A single natural gemstone with no duplicate behind it; once it is set or collected, there is no other. It will outlast everyone who owns it, which is most of what an heirloom really is. Hand-selected and filmed by Caveman Gems in good light, shown as honestly as a screen allows.
